When a two-factor challenge looks wrong

An odd challenge is information, not just an inconvenience.

Two-factor login · updated

1It will not decrypt

If your tool says the message is not encrypted to any of your keys, the page may not be the real service.

2It asks for more

A challenge that asks you to send your private key, passphrase or a payment is fraudulent.

3Check the address

Compare the address bar with the confirmed we the north market onion before trying again.

4Start over cleanly

Close the tab, open the confirmed address from the status panel and log in again.

Lesson summary

If a challenge will not decrypt or asks for secrets, leave and recheck the WeTheNorth onion address.
